Tsaoko Amomum Fruit Extract Description: Amomum tsao-ko is a kind of Amomum Linn plant of Zingiberaceae. It grows in the shady and humid forest zone of tropical and subtropical zone. It mainly distributes in Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou and other places in China. Yunnan is the main producing area of Amomum tsao-ko in China, which has a history of more than 200 years. It is one of the major varieties of Chinese medicinal materials for both medicine and food. The cigarette flavoring test showed that Tsaoko Amomum Fruit Extract had the functions of enriching cigarettes incense, increasing special flavor, enhancing aroma quality and softening smoke, and the appropriate dosage was 0.05 mg/g. The antimicrobial activities of the extracts were Staphylococcus aureus > Nanyang K yeast > Anthracnose Bacillus >  Mango Stem End Rot Pathogens > Candida albicans > Bacillus subtilis > Aspergillus Niger > Proteus vulgaris > Escherichia coli > Salmonella enteritidis. The 0.3% fresh-keeping solution of Tsaoko Amomum fruit extract was applied to preserve pork, crucian carp and citrus, and compared with 0.3% potassium sorbate fresh-keeping solution and blank treatment. The results showed that the fresh-keeping effect of Tsaoko Amomum fruit extract on pork and crucian carp was obvious, which was similar to that of potassium sorbate, but the fresh-keeping effect of Tsaoko Amomum fruit extract on citrus was inferior to that of potassium sorbate.
