Description: Jabuticaba, native to Brazil, is a tree in the family Myrtaceae. Its fruits are also known as tree grapes, wood grapes for they look like grapes, and its flowers and fruits are solitary or clustered on the trunk and branches. In Brazil, Jabuticaba fruits 6 times a year. In the last century, Jabuticaba was introduced in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and other places, and it blossoms and fruits 4 times a year.

The fruit of Jabuticaba is round or oblate in shape with thick skin, whose color changes from green to dark purple or black with maturity. The flesh is white and transparent, soft and juicy with a sweet taste.

The fruit contains protein, fiber, minerals, trace elements, and many other nutrients. A study has found that Per hundred grams of Jabuticaba fruit contain water 87.1g, Carbohydrate 12.58g, cellulose 0.08g, fat 0.01g, protein 0.11-0.32g, potassium 13.2 mg, calcium 7mg, phosphorus 9.2-34.6 mg, iron 0.5-0.87mg.
