Costus Extract Description: Costus, also named kuth, is a species of thistle in the genus Sauaaurea, which has been used in Chinese medicine for a long time. It is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Hunan and other places. At present, researches suggest that Costus contains many chemical constituents including flavonoids, terpenoids, carbohydrates alkaloids, fatty acids, amino acids and so on. The content of terpenes is the most abundant, among which dehydroxylinolactone and xylenolactone are the main active components.and its activity is related to anti-inflammation, anti-bacterial and anti-tumor.

Costus can increase the complex aroma of Sauce and brine products. And the essential oil extracted from Costus has a long history of application in medicine and perfume. In addition, experiments have proved that the plant deodorant made from Costus shows good effects.
