Squill Extract Description: Squill, a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, is native to southern Europe, western Asia, and northern Africa. It has been used as a poison and as a medicinal remedy. Extracts of its bulb were used as a cardiotonic by the Romans and ancient Egyptians for the treatment of edema, as an expectorant, and as an emetic. It was also used in herbal medicine for making cold and cough syrup and used in hair tonics for seborrhea and dandruff.

Red squill is not used medicinally, the powdered dried bulbs of red squill are mainly used as rodenticides.
