Saffower Yellower Description:

Safflower is an important Chinese herbal medicine, which is the dry flower of the Compositae. It contains two kinds of pigment, which contains carthamin and carthamin yellow. Safflower yellow is a natural yellow pigment extracted from the petals of the safflower, and is a chalcone compound. Safflower yellow is the edible natural pigment permitted to be used in China.
