Active ingredients: European barberry containing a variety of alkaloids, with berberine, berbamine, aromoline, Fibrauretin, oxyacanthine and oxidation of berberine, berberine content was the highest, up to 6%. The other two varieties were also berberine.

Barberry Extract Description: Berberis vulgaris, also known as the European barberry, deciduous shrub, native to Japan and China; Berberis aquifolium Nutt. mainly distributed in the North Pacific coast; Dyer's barberry is mainly produced in India. There are more than 400 kinds of plants belonging to the same family, but cosmetics only use these three kinds of Berberis extract.

Barberry Extract Application: Fruit is edible, usually made of food additives, jam or dried fruit, with medicinal value and industrial value. Peel can be used as medicine. Medicinal history of Barberry can be traced back to ancient Egypt, combined with fennel seeds to prevent plague. In the United States and Europe, barberry was used to reduce fever and anti bleeding. Berberine is the main active ingredient of Berberis vulgaris, which mainly used for sterilization. European barberry can be used for cosmetics, Berberis extract strongly against Candida albicans, especially suitable for prevention of some oral hygiene and acne; European barberry extract significantly on lipolysis promoting effect, can be used for weight loss products.

European barberry Security: Regard extract of European barberry, Berberis aquifolium Nutt and Dyer's barberry as raw materials of cosmetics, included in the Chinese incense Association in 2010 version of the name "International cosmetics raw materials standard Chinese name list", no reports of unsafe external use.
