Introduction: Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is the most effective antioxidant polyphenols in green tea, and has antioxidant, anticancer and antimutagenic activities. The antioxidant activity of vitamin C is at least 100 times, 25 times the vitamin E, can protect cells and DNA damage, and this damage is believed to be associated with cancer, heart disease and other major diseases, the efficacy of EGCG attributed to their removal of oxygen free radicals (antioxidant) capacity.
