Description: Imperata cylindrica is a species of grass in the family Poaceae. It is distributed in Henan, Liaoning, Hebei, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and other northern areas. Pharmacological activity is in relation to the diuretic, lowering blood pressure, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and liver-protection. Imperata cylindrica is widely used in healthcare food products. And it has already successfully applied to beverage, noodles, vermicelli, and tea. In order to develop new natural tobacco flavor, there are experiments conducted with the root of Imperatae with cigarettes. The results showed that it could improve the smell.
